Orthopedic Physical Therapy is able to offer hydrotherapy to our patients because of our affiliation with The Body Shoppe Health and Fitness Center.
 
The Body Shoppe has two Endless Pools, single person pools that are either three or four feet deep and heated to 89 degrees.  Each pool is equipped to create various levels of current depending on the activies you want to perform.  There are two pools and only one person is in each pool at a given time.  Because The Body Shoppe environment is not geared toward children, you won't find children in these pools. 
 
Ballasts can be used to create resistance during exercise for an upper body injury.  For low back and lower extremity injuries / conditions / surgeries, the water creates a non-weight-bearing environment in which the patient can perform exercises set by their physical therapist. 
 
Hydrotherapy at Orthopedic Physical Therapy has been utilized to rehabilitate surgical conditions as well as chronic degenerative changes.  Additionally, hydrotherapy is a great transition tool for someone who is deconditioned to begin an exercise program
