Lymphedema Management

Lymphedema is swelling due to an accumulation of accumulation of lymphatic fluid in the interstitial tissue. It can develop when lymphatic vessels are missing, impaired or damaged post-surgically. Lymphedema is most often in the arms or legs, but also occasionally found in other parts of the body.

To treat lymphedema, Physical Therapists will design a program consisting of manual lymph drainage, multilayered bandaging, exercise, and education.
